CHEEJ'S BOXES OF STUFF

went back to acs for acdc's drama night..a play called "the birds"..dont think it was well done, dont think it was worth $20..

no offense to the current acdc members, but a political satire shoudlnt be turned into a pseudo musical extravaganza, complete with colourful feathered costumes. it insults the play, and it insults the thought-provoking process that the play is supposed to induce. not the first time the acs fun-loving spirit has backfired, but definitely one of the more adverse cases i've seen.

i know im not exactly qualified to criticise the acdc, but as a strictly neutral party i cant help but feel that the play could have been performed in a more satisfactory fashion. breaking into (rather bad) dance and song every few minutes does not cause the audience to contemplate the finer issues that the play intends to put across.

one thing that the play definitely did though, was get me to think abt how ac has changed since i left it..

the kind of humour put up in the play, though largely inappropriate, made me realise that humour in acs has changed since i'd graduated. instead of the slapstick that characterised my year, i found randomness and pointlessness. while changing popular song lyrics in order to fit them into the play might be considered clever by some, i find it rather passe and, truth be told, a desperate attempt to force the show to be entertaining to acsians.

thankfully, ac humour hasnt changed that much. most of the audience still go for slapstick. which meant that there wasnt much audience appreciation through the course of the show.

on a lighter note..

me and jeremy crashed the ncc-sea room! haha..that's what happens when u forget to lock ur windows..jeremy climbed in, he being the smaller of us both, and unlocked the door so i might walk in too. we went thru all the different cupboards, looked at all the different badges and awards, and generally were nostalgic abt our years spent in the unit. even did a little arms drill..really miss that, despite how much i complained abt it when i did it, haha.

we wrote on the whiteboard too! a little note from 2 seniors who happened to be bored enough to come poking around..

"jo0 i5 pW\3d 3y 53\10r5!! ph34r! MSG Jeremy Khoo, SSG Cheong Chee Jun"

lolz, no?

hey everyone..just a short one now, its late, and i really need to catch up on sleep..

today i went to njco's concert! haha i never knew chinese music could be so beautiful and emotive..i think it has to do with the fact that ac doesnt have a chinese orchestra, so i've been deprived for some years now..

and the songs where the choir sang with the orchestra were just beautiful! could literaly feel my skin prickling and hairs standing when everything just fell together so perfectly! good job girls! especially the soloists cherie, cheryl and lee min! ya'll managed to adapt and fit the song so wonderfully well! (that's a compliment btw, haha..must clarify, no?)

oh well, that's all for now..gotta sleep..kowtowing to my comp liao..

today is offically a crazy day!

why? a number of reasons..
1) i have hit the double-digit record for chinese!

2) i have a new hangout in school: the I&E hub!
the only disadvantage though is that its got glass walls..makes me feel like an animal in the zoo sometimes..

3) i went crazy wif arts pple!
haha was with hao, sophia, charmaine and eud were stoning if me in the I&E from 250pm to 6pm (cheng wei was there too, but he's very technically a science student although we all agree that its arts balls that he has). anyway we were doing all sorts of random online quizzes, the results of some u can see in the entry just before this..

anyway we left school at abt 6, and i bought ribena on the way down to the bus stop. sophia was thirsty, so she koped a few mouthfuls. when i had drank down to the last mouthful in the cup, i tore the cover off. i was abt to gulp it down when i saw a dead bee floating in the last precious mouthful of my ribena. i then gaped at my cup, before starting to laugh rather uncontrollably. -remembers last experience with bee-

sophia then saw the bee..and that's when the mayhem began, haha. poor sophia began going crazy abt her "weak stomach", and kept insisting that she was going to shit and shit and shit when she got home. -matter of fact tone- diarrhoea.

sophia's reasons for prospective diarrhoea:
1) bees are dirty cos they dont bathe
2) rain doesnt count as an insect bath, as rain is made of evaporated pee

therefore, based on the aforementioned 2 reasons, sophia was going to have a diarrhoea attack cos a dirty bee was floating in her(my) ribena.

oh that randomness that is the njc arts faculty!! wahahahaha..

more later if i can think of things to blog abt..
~ciao~

What Kind of Coffee Are You?

Your Virgo Drinking Style

Hey brainiac, you are compelled to impose order onto your bender.
Your famously fussy quest for purity could lead to drinking less than other signs, sure...
But it could also lead to drinking booze neatly (like sucking down organic wine or having extreme brand loyalty).
You rarely get fully shellacked -- but, oh, when you do!

Virgo's controlled by the intellect, but there's an unbridled beast lurking within, and they let it loose when walloped. It's dead sexy (and surprisingly unsloppy). As one Virgo friend used to declare, "I'm going to drink myself into a low level of intelligence tonight." A toast to the subgenius IQ!
Your Signature Cocktails
Many Virgos prefer clear, simple, untreacly drinks like vodka tonic or a real margarita, though you can be found drinking anything from unflinchingly downing Cuervo straight to smirkingly ordering a dirty virgin. You also tend to like bitter, low-alk guzzles like Campari and soda. However, you rarely change your signature drink once you've found it.
Your Celebrity Drinking Buddies
Cameron Diaz, Hugh Grant, Keanu Reeves, Nicole Richie, Bill Murray, Jada Pinkett Smith, Adam Sandler, and Ricki Lake.

Your Life Path Number Is 4

4

You are the most trustworthy, practical, and down-to-earth of individuals; the cornerstone members of society.

The goal of your life path is learning to take orders and to carry them out with dedication and perseverance.

You always demand as much from yourself as you do from others, and sometimes a lot more.

You have the kind of will power that is often mistaken for sheer stubbornness.

Once a decision is made, it will be followed through to the conclusion, right, wrong, or indifferent.

You are very set in your ways and determined to handle things the way you are so certain that they should be handled. Your tenacity of purpose and ability to get the job done borders on obsession.

You are an excellent organizer and planner because of your innate ability to view things in a very common sense and practical way.

You are a wonderful manager with a great sense of how to get the job done.

Loyal and devoted, you make the best of your relationships, and you are a dependable business partner.

Friends may be few in number, but you are very close to them and once friendships are made, they often last a lifetime. The number 4 is solidly associated with the element of earth from which it gains it strength and utter sense of reality.

You are one of the most dependable people you know.

If patience and determination can ever win, you are sure to achieve great success in life.

The negative side of the 4 can prove dogmatic to an excess, narrow-minded, and repressive.

A lot of superficial people turn you off, and you lack the tact to keep your feelings from being totally clear to all around. Additionally, the negative 4 has a bad tendency to get too caught up in the daily routine of affairs.

If you're not careful, you'll often miss the big picture and major opportunities that come along once in a while.

its been a long and tiring, but fulfilling week..

so much had to be done..rehearsals practically everyday..late days on those when i didnt have rehearsals..a whole week of tiring activity. everything was in preparation for minister ng eng hen's farewell dinner today, and i think we did good..performance wasnt bad, quite a rousing opening item, we were. TTBB performed too! haha we've come far since coming together for talentime '05..now that we've even performed for a minister, it feels like we've hit another level altogether! happy..

it wasnt easy getting there though..its been a difficult week in terms of choir..attendance issues, clashing events, screwed up song..

thank goodness for that bright spark of happiness! dont think i've told u, but u kept me going -bighappygrin-

too tired to type any more now..gonna sleep..

whee..seniors' farewell today..ups and downs for everyone..thankfully, it wasnt a sad sad everyone cries kinda farewell..we all know that although we're saying goodbye to them, u can never realli erase them from memories..(am i making sense??)

in any case, it all went smoothly today..good good good! although we admittedly ended behind time and our precariously planned schedule was kinda shuffled around thru the course of the whole evening, we accomplished all that we had set out to do, and more. i think that after tonight, nj choir is even closer than before..

seriously, everything went well..the food, the gifts, the proceedings, the speeches, the items and performances..even me singing sop for lion sleeps tonight..it went so well..even with the stress and all the running abt, i think we did real good..

to the comm: i know its been difficult, organising and meeting and scheduling and all that jazz..its been stressful and tiring, especially thru the course of this week, but despite disagreements and minor arguments, we pulled thru. i think we grew from this experience, the first event that we planned as a comm..we learned more abt each other, we learned more abt how each of us tick. hopefully that'll put us in good stead for the future!

to the seniors: u guys have seriously been great! 7 months is a short time to bond in, but all of u have been so welcoming, so generous with ur smiles, so open with us juniors that it wasnt difficult to fit in at all, even when i came in earlier than anyone else. it just goes to show what great pple u guys are, and how much u deserve all the accolades that the teachers and ur peers have showered on u guys. although we juniors may never know the full extent of what u guys had been through, i for one can say for sure that it cant have been all smooth sailing. but looking at who u are now, who u are as people, as friends..wow is all i can say! u guys leave a proud legacy for us juniors to follow!

haha..typing blog entries at 1230am is not conducive to my mental well-being..in any case, i think i've covered just abt all that i want to say..well, just abt all that i can remember offhand anyway..

cya!

i got stripped today..

lol, i know how it sounds *grins*

u see, i went back to ac to disturb the choir today..with disturb being used in good fun of course. then, as is usually the practise when it comes to the highest ranking senior who comes back to visit, i got cornered and promptly stripped in the keyboard lab.

imagine this: 3 guys to each of my limbs, while 3 others working away at pulling my clothes off. such is the tradition in acs(i). they made off with my shoes, and my pants were to my knees by the time they decided to stop..

damn i miss the good old days..

damn i miss acs..
